Tenakourou Capital Partners
Strategic advisory, investment structuring, transactions, public-private partnerships and project finance. The Group's operational entry point.

Africa's transformation will be decided in a small number of capital-intensive sectors. They are demanding: long investment cycles, technical complexity and lenders who expect projects to be structured properly before they are financed.
Tenakourou Capital was created to work at that junction — between the projects that need capital and the institutions that provide it — with the discipline, governance and sector depth the work requires.

Our investment approachFour sectors, and only four. Mandates are taken where the Group can hold an informed view of the technology, the counterparties and the regulation.
A project is ready when a lender's credit committee can follow the risk allocation from end to end. Everything upstream is organised around that test.
Advisory and investment sit in the same group, with clear separation rules. Where the Group invests, it expects to carry the same risk as the partners beside it.
Infrastructure, energy and industrial assets are measured in decades. The Group is built to stay with a project after financial close.
We do not intend to be Africa's largest financial group, but one of the most rigorous, most specialised and most credible of its generation.

Who we are, what we set out to do, and where we are based.
Tenakourou Capital is an international investment and development group. Its institutional headquarters is in London; its mandate is Pan-African. The Group advises on, structures and — as its platform matures — invests in projects in infrastructure, energy, industry, and mining and natural resources.
It was incorporated in 2026 and is being built in sequence: advisory first, through Tenakourou Capital Partners; then investment and asset management, as governance, control and the necessary authorisations are established. The Group states plainly which of its activities are operational and which are still in development.
Its founders are African; its standards are international. That combination — market knowledge on the ground, institutional discipline in London — is the Group's defining characteristic.
To become a reference platform for the structuring, financing and development of strategic projects in Africa — recognised for its rigour, its specialisation and its integrity.
To create durable value by advising on, structuring and supporting the projects that accelerate Africa's industrialisation — from financial strategy to capital raising and long-term stewardship.
High execution standards at every stage of a mandate, from first analysis to closing.
Transparency, compliance and rigorous management of conflicts of interest in every relationship.
Projects designed to last, for the benefit of African economies and future generations.
London is the Group's only institutional headquarters. It is where governance sits, where strategy is set, where investor relations are managed and where international development is led.
The choice is practical. London gives direct access to investors, lenders and capital markets; English law is the reference for international contracts and dispute resolution; and the compliance environment matches what institutions expect of a counterparty.
The Group's mandate is African. Its subsidiaries, partnerships and sector activities are deployed progressively across the continent, according to the activity, the jurisdiction and operational need.
Any local establishment is decided case by case, within the applicable legal frameworks. The Group does not present planned offices as existing ones.

Advisory, investment and asset management under one governance, deployed in sequence.
Tenakourou Capital Ltd is the Group's holding company. It sets the vision and strategy, carries governance, compliance and risk management, and coordinates the subsidiaries and investor relations.
Each subsidiary has a defined perimeter. Partners originates and structures opportunities; Invest is intended to invest alongside institutional partners; Asset Management is intended to offer investment solutions to institutional investors. Relations between them are governed by separation rules and conflict-of-interest procedures.
Strategic advisory to governments and companies, investment structuring, transactions, public-private partnerships and project finance.

Infrastructure, energy, industry, and mining and natural resources. The Group works in these four, and only these four.
Specialisation is a decision about where the Group can be genuinely useful. In capital-intensive sectors, the difference between a project that is financed and one that is not lies in technical understanding, contract quality and risk allocation — not in general financial advice.

Transport, logistics, urban infrastructure and telecommunications — the assets that decide whether an economy can compete.
Infrastructure projects in Africa are rarely short of sponsors or of need. They are held back by preparation: feasibility work that stops short of financial structuring, contracts that leave risks unassigned, and revenue models that lenders cannot underwrite.
The Group works upstream of financing, where those questions are settled, and stays with the project through negotiation and close.
The Group does not publish transactions or mandates that are not concluded and publicly disclosed.
Revenue models, tariff structures, availability payments and the economics that determine whether an asset is financeable.
Concession and partnership frameworks with a balanced allocation of construction, demand, currency and political risk.

Generation, transmission and distribution, renewables, gas and the instruments of the energy transition.
Energy assets are financed on the strength of their contracts. A power purchase agreement that a lender trusts, a creditworthy offtaker, a currency mechanism that survives a devaluation — these decide the cost of capital long before any negotiation with investors.
The Group structures projects around those instruments, and is candid with sponsors when the contractual base is not yet there.
The Group does not publish transactions or mandates that are not concluded and publicly disclosed.
PPAs, tariff indexation, curtailment and termination provisions that a credit committee can follow.
Hedging, liquidity support, guarantees and the political risk instruments available from development institutions.

Local processing, agri-industry, manufacturing and the industrial value chains that convert resources into employment.
Industrial projects carry risks that infrastructure does not: market risk, input supply, logistics and working capital. They are financed differently, and they need sponsors who understand the operating reality as well as the model.
The Group's role is to make those risks explicit and to build a capital structure that can absorb them.
The Group does not publish transactions or mandates that are not concluded and publicly disclosed.
Capital structure, phasing, offtake agreements and the working capital facilities that operations actually require.

Mining, extractive resources and the beneficiation of raw materials, within recognised environmental, social and governance standards.
Resource projects are judged as much on their social and environmental terms as on their geology. Community agreements, environmental standards and a fiscal settlement that the host state considers fair are not compliance formalities — they are conditions of financing.
The Group structures on that basis, and declines work where it cannot be done properly.
The Group does not publish transactions or mandates that are not concluded and publicly disclosed.
Mine development capital, streaming and offtake arrangements, and phased funding matched to the resource plan.
Downstream processing that retains value locally, with an honest view of power, logistics and market access.

How the Group selects, structures and supports the projects it works on.
The Group's philosophy is narrow on purpose. It works in four sectors, on projects where the economics can be understood, and with partners whose interests can be aligned. It does not chase transaction volume, and it does not present intentions as achievements.
Value is created before financing, not after it: in the quality of preparation, in the allocation of risk and in the contracts that hold when conditions change.
Infrastructure, energy and industrial assets are measured in decades. Mandates and investments are assessed on what they look like in year ten, not in the quarter they close.
Risks are named, allocated to the party best able to carry them, and priced. Risks that cannot be allocated are a reason to restructure a project or to decline it.
Every mandate is framed by an engagement letter, preceded by counterparty integrity checks and a conflicts analysis. Selectivity is a form of respect for the client.
The Group measures itself on projects that reach financial close and perform afterwards — not on mandates signed.
The Group works alongside lenders, development finance institutions, industrial operators and governments, and expects to carry risk with them rather than beside them.
African markets are not one market. Regulation, currency regimes, procurement practice and political economy differ; the Group's analysis starts from that.

The Group is led by a Chairman & Group CEO and two Managing Partners, within a deliberately small executive team.
Julius Sekone is the founder of Tenakourou Capital and serves as its Chairman & Group CEO.
He sets the Group's vision and strategy, chairs its governance bodies and leads its international development from London, working with investors, financial institutions, governments and industrial partners.
An entrepreneur originally from Burkina Faso, he has built his career around creating and developing business ventures, guided by one conviction: Africa's economic transformation requires capital, strategy and execution to be connected far more closely.
He founded Tenakourou Capital in 2026 to give that conviction an institutional framework — a specialist platform, governed to international standards and dedicated to the continent's foundational sectors.
Cleophas Boladji Houngbedji is a Managing Partner of Tenakourou Capital.
He contributes to shaping the Group's strategic direction, with a particular focus on economic affairs and institutional dialogue with governments, public institutions and economic partners.
As a member of the leadership team alongside the Chairman & Group CEO, he supports the relevance and quality of the Group's mandates, particularly on economic policy, public-private partnerships and the development of strategic sectors.
Lionel Maxence Doubou Bambara is a Managing Partner of Tenakourou Capital.
He contributes to leading the Group's financial structuring activities and supports the analysis, preparation and monitoring of transactions, working with investors, financial institutions and project sponsors.
As a member of the leadership team alongside the Chairman & Group CEO, he brings a rigorous financial approach focused on project bankability, risk management and financial discipline.
